I graduated from Glasgow University with an Honours Degree in Law and Diploma in Legal Practice in 1989. After completing my training in general practice in Glasgow I went abroad for a period to the United States of America.
I then returned to commence my legal career in Scotland. Upon choosing to study Law I always knew that I would end up in a Court room representing people needing assistance. It never occurred to me to be office based. I have ended up representing thousands of people from all walks of life many of whom have found themselves in situations they never thought they would have to deal with.
I have conducted, tribunals, civil proofs and particularly criminal court work at every level throughout Scotland. From the JP Court, Sheriff at both summary and solemn levels, and of course many significant cases in the High Court. Basically, I have seen it all in the Scottish Courts. I consider these same Courts to be my place of work.
For many years I assisted my fellow Lawyers by representing them as their Criminal Convener within the local Faculty of Solicitors – I can assure you that I will also assist you with skill and integrity should you choose to instruct me.
